About The Deirdres
The Deirdres were a Derby, United Kingdom based band often likened to a happy clappy school choir, and described as playing 'rawkus musical nonsense'. Once located within the strange music scene of Derby, the Deirdres consisted of 7 members: Gemma Wood, Sophie Barker, Louise Croft, Robert Fairs, Russell Lomas, Keir Thomas and Amy Burchell. The band rose to fame in October 2006 when they appeared on the BBC Antiques Roadshow programme, where they performed the theme music, much to the delight of Michael Aspell and the crowd.
