The Dark Third are a seven-piece art rock collective, formed in Auckland, New Zealand in 2013. The band currently consists of Daniel Hay (vocals, piano), Denys Matveev (bass guitar), Luiz Paganelli (lead guitar), Elliot McKenzie (secondary guitar, backing vocals), Christan Pianta (drums), Evelyn Benson (violin) and Frank Talbot (saxophone). The group is currently spread between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Known for consistent genre shifts
