About The Clarendonians
The Clarendonians was a ska and rocksteady vocal group from Jamaica, active initially from the mid- to late 1960s. They reformed in the 1990s and continued to perform until about 2013. Ernest Wilson (born: Fitzroy Ernest Wilson) and Peter Austin were still teenagers when they formed The Clarendonians, in 1965. Expanded into a trio, with the addition of seven year old singing sensation, Freddie McGregor, The Clarendonians became one of the most successful ska and early reggae groups in Jamaica.
