The Cheviot Ranters were a well known and very popular local dance band who specialised in playing Northumbrian (& Scottish) country dance music. You were guaranteed a good night out when these lads were playing. There were a few band members over the years. Guest' band on one of John Peel's "Peels Pleasures"
