About The Butterflys
The Butterflys were a Brooklyn, NY based group of the Red Bird label. They have often been misidentified as a studio group, containing Ellie Greenwich. The lead singer is Paulette Holland, accompanied by Mary Thomas and Myrna Giraud, formerly of the Crystals and Carmen Santiago. The co-writers of "I Wonder" are Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich and Phil Spector. Spector previously recorded two versions of this song, one by The Ronettes and the other by The Crystals.
