About The Beau-Marks
Formed in 1958, this Montreal based quartet financed their own recordings and used local studios - a very rare occurrence in the early '60's. They were fairly restricted at the time to playing American standards under the name Del Tones, but they would make forays into recording studios to try out their original material as often as possible. A copyright hassle from a US act forced the band to change their named to Beau-marks which came from, of all things, the BOMARC missile.
