About The Beaten Sea
The Beaten Sea, from Dallas, Texas, personifies the new Texas folk that has largely come out of North Texas. Evocative of tumbleweeds, dusty boots and hardscrabble immigrants, their music steals beautifully from folk and Appalachia but with hooky melodies to rival any radio pop. Brought up in the house concert tradition of the underground Dallas music scene, their self-titled debut received numerous accolades upon its release in 2010. They are rumored to be working on a follow up now.
