About The Bakesys
The Bakesys were formed in early 1990 by a group of friends in the Berkshire town of Newbury. The band’s formation was inspired by the European third wave ska scene of the late 1980’s and the exploits of such outfits as The Loafers, Hotknives, Busters and No Sports. After establishing a strong local following by 1991, the band began playing shows all around England, appearing alongside the likes of Intensified, 100 Men, The Skanxters, Special Beat, Bad Manners, Desmond Dekker, The Selecter, Maroon Town and Newmatics in the process.
