There were two bands called The Ammonites. 1. The Ammonites were an early 1980s ska band from Brighton, UK. They released one 7" single Big Eaters / Dressed To Kill in 1981. 2. The Ammonites were a jangly/twee indie pop group from Leicester, United Kingdom, that formed in 1987. After a string of 4-Track recordings on the Rutland Records signature tape format, the band eventually released a 7" single E.P. Head Full Of Strange on vinyl by Rutland Records in 1991
