About Tennessee Chocolate Drops

The Tennessee Chocolate Drops are an early grouping of Howard Armstrong, Ted Bogan and Carl Martin. The Tennessee Chocolate Drops were one of the few recorded black string bands, and the three became influential in several genres of music. Howard "Louie Bluie" Armstrong (March 4, 1909 – July 30, 2003) was an African American string band and country blues musician, who played fiddle, mandolin, and guitar and also sang. He was also a notable visual artist and raconteur.
