About Stuart MacRae

Scottish composer, born 1976, Inverness. Studied at Durham University and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Breakthorugh: premier of Violin Concerto at 2001 Proms season. Subsequent work includes two one-act operas: The Assassin Tree (2006) and Remembrance Day (2009), as well as various chamber and solo pieces with themes drawn from the Scottish landscape and from Classical mythology.
