About Steve Eliovson
Steve Eliovson (27 November 1953, Johannesburg, South Africa - 13 March 2020, Johannesburg, South Africa), was a South-African jazz guitarist, one of the most intriguing artists in the entire ECM catalog. Having recorded his critically acclaimed debut Dawn Dance in 1981, Eliovson completely disappeared from the music industry for reasons as of yet unknown. Dawn Dance, recorded together with the late Collin Walcott, is among all-time ECM bestsellers and is widely regarded as one of the finest recordings issued by the label.
