Steven J. Camp was born April 13, 1955 in Wheaton, Illinois. He majored in music theory and composition at Roosevelt University and was mentored by early CCM rocker Larry Norman. His record debut came in 1978 with SAYIN' IT WITH LOVE. As a writer or co-writer, Camp is responsible for 21 songs that peaked at #1 on the CCM charts.
