Reilly, Dilated Peoples member Evidence and The Alchemist had a realization. By that point, Evidence had traveled the world, released a string of acclaimed albums with Dilated Peoples and as a solo artist, and had become a respected producer helming beats for Kanye West, Defari, and Planet Asia, among others.
