About Stefano Fabri

Stefano Fabri (born ca. 1560 in Orvieto ; died August 28, 1609 in Loreto) was a composer and a conductor of the Cappella Giulia in the successor of Ruggiero Giovanelli . He was the son of Franceso Fabri , the conductor of the Cathedral of Orvieto. He is also the father of Stefano Fabri junior , who then also appeared as Francesco Beretta 's teacher. The son of a Flemish musician named Faber at the Cathedral of Orvieto received his first musical training there as a choirboy (1568-85), also as an organist (1580-81) and trombonist (1582-83).
