starry cat is one of many aliases of American musician Sam Ray, who is most notorious for Teen Suicide and Ricky Eat Acid. Many songs were produced during the hiatus and break he took from the studio sessions of another alias of his, known as Julia Brown, an indie pop band named after a band member. Those songs would eventually become his debut self-titled album starry cat. Sam would eventually abandon starry cat, and Julia Brown would become inactive since Sam reformed Teen Suicide again with Torts and J2.
