Starrfadu was started in the Fall of 2000 by Singer/Songwriter Austin Hartley. After a few area shows with various musicians, Brian Moody (drums) and Dave Martin (bass) would eventually join permanently. In 2001 the band (independently) released a 4-track EP, entitled "The Joys in Feeling Sorry for Yourself." Which featured a mix of Folk Rock, Punk, Acoustic and Experimental. The band was starting to get a decent area following, and a 'wild card' win would eventually earn them 2nd place in a month-long local Battle of the Bands.
