About Standing in the Colour
Wichita, Kansas is the setting for an instrumental rock band whose history reads like a love story of sorts. Boy falls in love with girl, discovers a family of like minded musicians, and in the winter of 2009 Standing in the Colour is formed. Brothers Mark and Ryan (guitars), their sister Erin (bass), and her husband, Mike (drums) are adept at layering ambient textures, electronics, and rock dynamics into a sound much bigger than its parts. All of this is apparent at their live performances which draw fans from a wide spectrum of backgrounds.
