About Species Being
Species Being was an improv/experimental rock band located in the San Francisco Bay Area from 1997 to 2002. The band released two records: 'Yonilicious' and 'Orgone Therapy', the later considered a seminal of work of improvistaional rock by many in the progressive music and out-rock scenes. The band was started in 1997 by drummer Frank Grau (Sleepytime Gorilla Museum). The original line up consisted largely of musicians from the local space-rock group Beyond-O-Matic and other local psych-rock and jazz musicians.
