Detroit-based experimental duo South South Million emerged in 2011 as a side project of Zoos of Berlin frontmen Trevor Naud and Daniel I. Clark. Blending a mix of found sounds and samples with live instrumentation and occasional vocals, the duo creates a sort of pop-based sound art that reads as a natural extension of their work with Zoos. Although there are elements of sound collage, electro-acoustic, ambient, and jazz, Naud and Clark retain the strong melodic sense that has been a hallmark of all their projects.
