About Sound Sandwich
Sixties band out of Burbank, CA. Members were Rusty Gebhardt (lead vocals), Ron Smedley (guitars and vocals), Val Tonione (keyboards), Sam Ferraro (bass and vocals) and Les Hugie (drums). Originally formed as a surf band known as the Chosen Few but morphed to early psychedelia (acid rock). Some of the members were under 18 which made it hard to work the local clubs but they managed to get air play on the much coveted Los Angeles AM radio scene (pre-FM era).
