About Sonoma
SONOMA are a Mexican electronic music duo consisting of Juan Contreras and Pedro Tadeo, both from Mexico City. Formed in 2011. The music of SONOMA has exhibited a gradual shift in aesthetic, from their earlier work with clear roots in techno, electro, and trip hop to later albums that are experimental in nature, featuring complex patterns of rhythm and subdued melodies. Heavily associated with the 1990s electronic genre known as intelligent dance music (IDM), they are ambivalent about relating their sound to established genres.
