About Snuky Tate
1) Lionel White (1948-1998) -- born in Wilmington, DE and studied painting at University of Delaware. He moved to San Francisco in the early 70's where he became the stage persona, Snuky Tate. He performed at the Mabuhay Gardens and other punk venues -- often before, during, and after other bands' sets, sometimes unbeknownst to the promoter! In 1979, he released two 7"s on his own Blackmouth Music, "Who Cares?" and "He's The Groove (He's The Pope)". The latter was re-issued as a 12" dance single on various labels including Island Records.
