"A good punk band is something more than simple chords played loudly. Beyond the requisite stage presence and outrage, punk works best when it has both a sense of politics and whimsy, and these are qualities the Worcester punk band SLITSTITCH has in spades. There’s a sort of abandon and absurdity in songs such as “Antisexual,” “Freedom War Machine” and “End of the Line,” a sense of screaming and laughing at the same time. And frankly? It’s kind of awesome.
