About Silver Mountain
Silver Mountain was a Swedish metal quartet formed in 1978 that helped establish characteristics that would eventually come to be known as power metal and neo-classical metal. Named for the famous Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow song "Man on the Silver Mountain," the band integrated Deep Purple-esque, keyboard-laden rock and classical compositions into the burgeoning NWOBHM scene. Silver Mountain also featured two members (brothers Anders and Jens Johansson) who would later achieve worldwide success with Yngwie Malmsteen.
