About Sidney Maiden

Sidney Maiden (1923 - Unknown) was a blues singer and harmonica who played on classic tracks such as Eclipse of the Sun. Born in Mansfield, Louisiana, USA in 1923. Maidens harmonica style indicates he may have been influenced by John Lee (Sonny Boy) Williamson. Sidney Maiden moved to the Richmond area of California in the 1940's wherehe worked the shipyards and where he first met guitarist K.C. Douglas . Maiden and Douglas played clubs on the West Coast, and recorded "Eclipse of the Sun" in 1948 for the Down Town label run by Bob Geddins.
