Sara Hjellström, known professionally as Shy Martin (stylized as shy martin), is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Born on November 5, 1993, she was raised in the small town of Lerdala, Sweden. Shy Martin discovered her passion for writing songs and poetry at a young age as a form of self-expression. At 17, she won a music contest at her school and subsequently signed with EMI. However, she later opted for independence and enrolled at the songwriting school Musikmakarna in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden.
