About Sandow
Sandow is a Cottbus based band, originating from East German underground, playing a very excentric mixture of rock, punk and avantgarde music. They took their name from a district of their home town. They became better known to a wider audience by appearing in the film "Flüstern und Schreien", a documentary about some bands in End-GDR, among them Silly, Chiccoree (later Zöllner) and Feeling B. Their song "Born In The GDR" became very popular and some kind of anthem for the alternative East German scene (GDR - German Democratic Republic).
