He debuted under the name サカノウエヨースケ (his name written in katakana), in 2000, at the age of 19, and was produced by 浅倉大介 (Asakura Daisuke). His first single was Super Drive, which was the opening theme for the Shounen-Ai anime GRAVITATION. It is the song for which he is best known. On November 19th, 2002, he released his debut album TOY.
