About Romanus Weichlein
Romanus Weichlein (born November 11, 1652 in Linz as Andreas Franz Weichlein ; † September 8, 1706 in Maria-Haid, today Kleinfrauenhaid) was an Austrian composer and violinist of the Baroque period. Romanus Weichlein was the son of a family of musicians in Linz, who probably received his first music lessons from his father, from Anton Seydler and Benjamin Ludwig Ramhaufski. Weichlein came to the Benedictine monastery in Lambach as a novice in 1671 and took the first name Romanus.
