Rockers Express was just one of many pseudonyms used by British ska phenomenon Alex Hughes in an attempt to get the radio play that was denied to him as Judge Dread, his best known moniker. The Dreadnaughts, Jamie Kent, Jason Sinclair, J.D. Alex and Alexander were some of the others. Rockers Express' only single featured a version of Roland Alphonso's 'Phoenix City', which also appeared on a Judge Dread LP in 1980.
