
About Riccardo Drigo
Riccardo Eugenio Drigo (ru. Риккардо Эудженьо Дриго), a.k.a. Richard Drigo (30 June 1846, Padua, Italy — 1 October 1930, Padua, Italy) was an Italian composer of ballet and Italian Opera, and a theatrical conductor and virtuoso pianist. Drigo is most noted for his long career as kapellmeister to the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatres, and as Director of Music to the renowned Imperial Ballet, where he composed music for the original works and revivals of the great choreographer Marius Petipa.
