Riad Awwad, born in Salfit, Palestine, was a prominent figure in Palestinian music and culture. He graduated from the Arab College in Jerusalem in 1947, and after a career as an electrical engineer specializing in musical equipment, he found his true calling in music. His musical journey began shortly after the First Intifada erupted in December 1987, with his music reflecting the struggles and emotions of the Palestinian people during this turbulent time.
