About Ria Bartok
Marie-Louise Pleiss (28.1.1943 - 2.3.1970), known by her stage name Ria Bartok was a singer of French Yé-yé. She was the daughter of an opera singer, she had her first success at the age of 20 with Parcel que j'ai revu François (Because I saw Francis). She was a part of the 1960's Yé-yé wave which swept most of Southern Europe. Unfortunately she was overshadowed by other Yé-yé singers of the 60's such as Johnny Hallyday, Sylvie Vartan, and Richard Anthony.
