Renee Rosnes is a Canadian jazz pianist and composer. Rosnes began learning to play the piano at the age of three, gaining an interest in jazz at high school. In 1986 she moved from Vancouver to New York, and later that year joined Joe Henderson's quartet. After a year with Wayne Shorter's quintet in 1988, in 1989 J.J. Rosnes has also performed with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band with Jon Faddis, the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Tribute Band, the Gerald Wilson Orchestra, and the Danish Radio Big Band.
