
About Reinhold Gliere
Reinhold Moritzevich Glière (Russian: Рейнгольд Морицевич Глиэр, Rejngol’d Moricevič Glier) (January 11 [O.S. 30 December 1874] 1875 – June 23, 1956) was a Russian post-romantic composer. He was born in Kiev. Glière entered the Kiev school of music in 1891, where he was taught violin by Otakar Ševčík, among others. In 1894 Glière entered the Moscow Conservatory where he studied with Sergei Taneyev (counterpoint), Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov (composition)
