RanestRane is an Italian rock prog band from Rome that was formed in 1998. The band writes progressive style music and concept albums inspired by art films such as "Nosferatu the Vampyre" by W. Herzog, "The Shining" and "2001: A Space Odyssey" by Stanley Kubrick. The first and the second part of A Space Odyssey’s trilogy features guest appearances from Steve Rothery and Steve Hogarth, guitarist and frontman of Marillion respectively. The band composes and performs original lyrics and music
