About Preservation Hall Hot 4 with Duke Dejan
The Preservation Hall Jazz band is a unit from New Orleans dedicated to keeping America's jazz music alive and in 1996 they collaborated with the late Harold Andrew Dejan, aka as Duke Dejan, the former leader of the Olympia Brass Band in New Orleans. DeJan died in 2002 at age 93, but still was swinging enough here to add vocals over the Hot 4's trumpeter/vocalist Wendell Brunious, guitarist/vocalist Don Vappie, pianist Thadeus Richard, and bassist Benjamin Jaffe. .
