Poolpo is a rock band (in essence) created at the end of the year 2006 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the simple purpose of making music to satisfy the artistic needs of the band members. The band's name came from a dream that one of the members had, in which he imagined he was happily playing in a band by the name of Pulpo. Because the name Pulpo was already taken, the group decided to call itself Poolpo.
