Pietro (Pedro) Heredia (c. 1575, Vercelli – 1648, Rome) was an Italian composer, organist and priest of probable Spanish descent whose career links the cathedral of Vercelli with some of the most important Roman churches of the early Baroque. Born in Vercelli around 1570–75, the son of Carlo Heredia, secretary to Duke Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, he grew up in a milieu where court, church and learned culture were closely intertwined.
