Percy Jones, UK fretless bass player, one of the original proponents of fretless bass in rock music, he came to prominence as bass player for 'Brand X' UK fusion band of the seventies and early eighties. Jones style is highly original having been influenced by jazz upright players (esp. Charles Mingus). Often overlooked by fans of fusion in favor of the more flamboyant Jaco Pastorius, Jones belongs in that group of elite serious bass players like Anthony Jackson
