Pedro de Pastrana (Toledo , c. 1490- ?, after 1558) was one of the great masters of Spanish polyphony of the Golden Age . His work has been revalued in recent times thanks to a detailed study of the quality of his music. He was chaplain of the court of the kings Ferdinand the Catholic , Carlos I and Felipe II , and until his death was in the service of the Spanish monarchy. His musical production, essentially religious , is characterized by a refined polyphony and a sobriety of style that make it very interesting.
