Nicasio Zorita (also Nicasio Çorito; born c. 1545, possibly in Aragon; active until at least 1593, probably in Tarragona) was a Spanish Renaissance chapelmaster and composer whose career unfolded principally in Catalonia during the second half of the sixteenth century. Although his origins remain uncertain, both his surname and early documentary traces point to an Aragonese background, a region whose strong cathedral traditions would have shaped his early musical formation.
