Paul Winter Consort is an American musical group led by the soprano saxophonist Paul Winter. Founded in 1967, the group mixes elements of classical music, jazz, and world musics, as well as the sounds of animals and nature. Current members also include percussionist Glen Velez and pianist Paul Halley, and former members include woodwind player Paul McCandless and guitarist Ralph Towner. The Consort recorded an album on location in the Grand Canyon
