
About Patti LaBelle
Patricia Louise Holte (born 24 May 1944), known professionally as Patti LaBelle, is an American R&B singer and actress. She began her career in the early 1960s as the lead singer of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. After the group was renamed Labelle in the 1970s, they achieved a US number-one single with "Lady Marmalade". Following the group’s disbandment in 1977, LaBelle pursued a solo career and attained mainstream success during the 1980s with songs including "If Only You Knew", "New Attitude" and "Stir It Up".
