About Patterson Hood
Patterson Hood (born 24 March 1964 in Muscle Shoals, AL, United States) is best known as the leader of the American roots rock band, Drive-By Truckers. He is the son of acclaimed Muscle Shoals bassist David Hood. In 2004, he released his debut solo album, entitled Killers and Stars. More solo studio albums followed: Murdering Oscar (and Other Love Songs) (2009), Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance (2012) and Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams (2025). Hood also released a live album, entitled Live at the Shoals Theatre (2021).
