Ottavio Vernizzi (November 27, 1569 - September 28, 1649) was an Italian composer and organist of the Baroque era. Ottavio Vernizzi was the son of Flaminia and Pier Giacomo Invernizzi, a scholar of the College of Artists. He was second organist in the basilica of S. Petronio from 1596. In 1626 he became the first organist and held the position until his death. He was active until an advanced age. He wrote mostly sacred music for voices and organ, but he did not leave out the profane monody.
