Ordo Equitum Solis
About Ordo Equitum Solis
Ordo Equitum Solis (a duo of guitar and vocals from Italy formed in 1988) solemn, melancholy folk ballads redolent of medieval music, both troubadours' songs and Gregorian liturgy. Inevitably, Solstitii Temporis Sensus (Musica Maxima Magnetica, 1990) and Animi Aegritudo (1991) sounded derivative of Sol Invictus and Dead Can Dance. The EP OES (1993) and the live Paraskenia (1994) simply recycled the same ideas, but Hecates (1995) and Planetes (1999) showed an increased mastery in producing the sound of their acoustic "canzoni".
