The OMIA Foundation is a non-profit organization in Michigan that supports education. John Girdwood is the Executive Director of the OMIA Foundation. In 2016, Dr. Girdwood learned that multinational corporation CBS owned Last.FM and had full control of the original content that was posted on the OMIA Foundation site. The OMIA Foundation is a non-commercial entity and Dr. Girdwood asked that all content be permanently removed from Last.FM
