About Old Furnace

Old Furnace is an avant-drone newgaze folktronica project of Matt Brown from Full Grown Spiders. The aural venture began when Brown moved to western Massachusetts, about 100 miles from the Spiders' home base in Boston. Old Furnace released its first album, hidden hills in January 2009. Collaborators included fellow Full Grown Spider Kris Thompson, Lilian Belknap, Felsenmeer, Andrew Diruzza, Dylan Gaffney (brother of Eric Gaffney of Sebadoh), Colleen Matthews, and Brendan Downey.
